The model's settings were chosen on a single league. The other 15 took no part in that choice — yet the model still beats a blind guess in 16 of 16 leagues.
That distinction matters: if a method only works in the league it was tuned on, it has fitted that league. If it also works in leagues it never saw, the method itself works.
The gain is not the same everywhere: clear in first divisions, small in second divisions. Both are in the league-by-league table — we do not show only the leagues that go well.
