About Matris

This page answers two questions: what Matris is, and what it is not. The second one matters just as much as the first.

What Matris is

Matris is an analytics platform that computes statistical probabilities for football matches. Its inputs are the actual scores of matches that have been played and, where a match has been priced, the market price. What a prediction rests on is stated on screen: how many matches it was derived from, and how much uncertainty it carries. Whether the prediction later turned out right is recorded too, and published openly.

How it works

  • The input is scores — plus the market where a price exists. Each team's attacking and defensive strength is derived from played matches. Where a match has been priced, the market price is taken into account as well — that price carries pre-match news such as line-ups and injuries in already-digested form. The odds themselves are never shown on any screen.
  • A model does the arithmetic. Probabilities come from a model that returns the same result for the same input. Look at the same match twice and you see the same number.
  • The AI does the arithmetic; it does not invent the sentence. The system is AI-based, but not the chatty kind: it sweeps tens of thousands of matches, derives each team's strength and computes every possible scoreline — a volume of work no human could do by hand. The sentences on screen, however, are not written by a language model: a fixed template builds them and every number in them is straight out of the computation. Invented numbers are impossible by construction, not by inspection. There was a period when a language model wrote the prose; it was removed on 12 August 2026 for exactly this reason.

What Matris is not

  • It is not a betting site. It takes no bets, publishes no odds, and moves no money in or out.
  • It does not advise betting or gambling. No number here means “back this one”. Nothing on this site is a recommendation, encouragement or referral to bet or gamble.
  • It has no ties to bookmakers. There are no bookmaker adverts, links or affiliate referrals on this site, and there never will be. This is a rule of the product, not a temporary choice.
  • It is not financial advice. The content is informational. It is not investment advice and not financial advice.
  • It claims no certainty. The percentages shown are probabilities, not guarantees. When an outcome given “70%” fails to happen in three matches out of ten, that is not a fault — it is what the number being correct requires.

Incorrect predictions are not hidden

It is easy for a prediction platform to tell the story of its own success using examples it picked itself. That is why the track record page is unfiltered: correct and incorrect alike, as they are, straight from the database. The “selected analyses” section on the home page is a curated set of examples, and it says so above itself.
